My name is Norris Hung and I was born March 16, 1987.  I received my liberal arts degree from Brown University in the spring of 2009.  My interests are in design, science, sustainability, and technology.  I am constantly searching unique and novel ways to combine these interests.

I was born and raised in the Bay Area where I was deeply instilled with a respect for cultural diversity and an appreciation for the natural world around us. My parents immigrated from China to the Bay Area in the 70's but never experienced the wealth of opportunities that they expected to in America. Growing up in a lower middle class family allowed me to see and experience first hand many of the difficulties of the underprivileged. Having been given many opportunities to grow and succeed through the hard work of my parents and the goodwill of others, I feel a strong responsibility to contribute back to those may not be as lucky as I was - locally and globally.

My desire to learn and do more brought me to Providence, RI - a hub of the liberal and creative arts. I have come to understand that our world's problems can only be solved through a combination of knowledge, good design, and creative thinking. In order to effectively accomplish this, we must be willing to collaborate and unafraid to learn new things. Having been part of both the Brown and RISD communities - studying design, science, and the humanities - has taught me these values.
