A close friend from college begain a project this year entitled “Victeams.” Frustrated by the lack of publicly available crime data in his home country, Venezuela, he decided to tackle this problem with a creatively modern solution – to allow the people to submit their own crime reports. He is currently working on developing a website where victims of crime can submit their own crime reports and view the crime location, type, and time on a map. He hopes this will help burgeon the forming of grassroots crime-prevention groups around the nation.
I wanted to help contribute to his cause and decided to help design a logo that was both culturally sensitive and empowering. Focusing on the idea of a “team” of victims, I drew a logo that showed power through numbers. The colors I choose are closely related to the colors of the flag of Venezuela. I wanted to also give the logo a warm and organic feel to welcome people to participate in this project.
The logo utilizes a slightly altered version of comfortaa customized to give it a more organic look.
